Ab sofort gibt es einen Grund weniger, seinen alten Gameboy aufzubewahren: Tetris, eins der größten Kultspiele aller Zeiten, steht für Android-Smartphones ab sofort gratis zum Download bereit.
Satte 27 Jahre hat das Bauklötzchen-Spiel bereits auf dem Buckel – mehr als so manch ein Android-User da draußen. Bei der Markteinführung von Tetris waren Displays noch einfarbig, kontrastarm und pixelig – ganz im Gegensatz zu heute. Dass das Game aber trotzdem noch immer so beliebt ist, unterstreicht nur noch einmal den Kultfaktor: Laut EA wurde das Spiel für über 50 Plattformen und in 185 Ländern veröffentlicht, also nahezu weltweit.
Die Android-Version von EA kommt natürlich nicht in der Uralt-Grafik daher, sondern ist bunt und schick zurecht gemacht. Außerdem werden die Steine natürlich heutzutage über den Touchscreen gesteuert und gedreht. Zu den verbesserten Visuals und zur Touchscreen-Kontrolle gibt es aber immerhin die Original-Musik für stundenlange Ohrwürmer. Und für die richtige Competition können die User ihre Punkte speichern und am persönlichen Highscore feilen.

bei mir gings zu installieren, wenn ich nach Tetris Free gesucht habe (von “Electronic Arts Nederland B.V.”). Der Link oben führt zu Tetris Free von “Electronic Arts Inc.” – und da läßt ers mir nicht installieren
Auf jeden Fall sollte man gleich die Berechtigungen der App manuell einstellen, damit sie nicht ungefragt herumtelefonieren kann…

Schade, vermisse den originale Gameboy-Sound. wenn man moderne grafik und supercoolen sound will, kann man auch einen der unzähligen tetris klone spielen….
